Who we are
Dragon World Langauges, trading as Dragon World Languages (DWL), operates dragonworldlanguages.org and is the data controller for the personal information described here. Information we use
When you inquire or enroll, we use the contact details you provide, your chosen language, level, learning goals, availability and package selection. During lessons, we use attendance records, assignments and teacher feedback to track your hours and support your learning. If a parent enrolls a student, we use the parent’s contact details to manage the booking. If you create an account, we use your sign-in details to give you access to your dashboard.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record, which collects the payment details you enter at checkout under its own privacy notice. When you pay through PayPal, PayPal collects the payment details you enter on its checkout page under its own privacy statement. We use transaction details such as the reference, amount, currency and payment status to confirm enrollment, issue refunds and keep accounting records. Please do not send card details or passwords to your teacher or to DWL.
Who receives information
We share the information your assigned teacher needs to schedule and teach your lessons. Paddle receives the information needed to sell your package, process payments, handle tax compliance and issue invoices. Providers that host our site, deliver messages or run online classes process information needed for those services. For example, when you join a Google Meet lesson, your display name and anything you share in the call may be visible to other participants. We may share records with professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, and disclose them to authorities when legally required.
Why and legal basis
We use enrollment and lesson details to deliver the package you request (performance of a contract), payment records to meet accounting obligations (legal obligation), and support messages and security logs to resolve questions or disputes and protect the service (legitimate interests).
How long we keep information
We keep records for as long as needed for those purposes and any applicable legal retention period. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Website tools
Our website uses only cookies and similar storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your language choice. We do not use advertising cookies.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information.
Your choices
Email support@dragonworldlanguages.org to request a copy or correction of your information, ask for deletion, or exercise other privacy rights available where you live. We may ask for information to verify your identity. If we must retain a record, we will explain why. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s information. Where applicable, you may also raise a complaint with your local data protection authority.
